Klaus and Mary, my wonderful friends; how lucky I was that you by chance became my guests all those decades ago in Leicester. It still amazes me that Klaus could make me laugh so much when I spoke barely any German and he barely any English.

A good, kind and honourable man. I hope that I will be able to help you, Mary, in some small way, to bear his loss xxx
